This series comprises records related to historical aspects of the Board of Deaconess Work (BDW) of the United Lutheran Church in America (ULCA) and its predecessor, the General Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the United States of America (GS). Records date from 1901-1931, but the series also has several undated records. These records were generated or retained by the BDW during the course of administrative business.
